The Halifax location opened in 1989 (over three decades ago) following the success of the 1st Bookmark location in Charlottetown, PEI in 1972 (over 50 years ago!)

Located in Downtown Halifax, on bustling Spring Garden Road, Bookmark feels like the “people’s choice” of bookshops in Halifax given its prime location in a heavily foot trafficked area. Convenience and a vast collection of books, from new releases to cookbooks to biographies to encyclopedias to kitschy knick-knacks, it’s easy to see why the local literary community loves supporting Bookmark
Shelves were well-categorized making it super easy to browse by genre, with new releases and staff recommendations near the front.
